It's been a while since I've hiked to see Madame Pele on the Island of Hawai'i. Last Thursday, F. and I boarded a plane for Hilo to check out my house, visit some friends, surf Pohoiki, and just relax - the next two months are full of travel hither and yon, so this trip was the proverbial calm before the storm.
